Dick Frizzell "The Weight of The World"

Film titles & Branding

Iconic New Zealand artist Dick Frizzell begins work on a new landscape painting for a major gallery exhibition. From first pencil line to public unveiling, The Weight of the World traces the creative arc behind the canvas — exploring memory, identity, and what it means to carry culture on a brush.

The main title design takes its inspiration and texture directly from around Dick Frizzell’s studio, a space layered with debris, paint, and the residue of projects long completed alongside works only just beginning.

We wanted to create a title design and brand system that felt highly scalable and visually punchy. Too often films disappear into crowded festival programs or shrink into forgettable online thumbnails. The goal was to develop typography that feels hand-cut and human while still demanding attention.
