Jae Morrison
Jae Morrison is an actor's director who makes things with his own hands. Meisner-trained before stepping behind the camera, he directs performance first, drawing naturalistic work from talent ranging from Rose Byrne, Brian Cox and Nicholas Hoult to the All Blacks and Wallabies, athletes with no acting experience at all.
Ranked the 5th most awarded creative in the world by the Big Won Report, his career spans graphic design, advertising creative direction and directing, with 200+ international awards including 12 Grand Prix, multiple Cannes Lions and a D&AD Yellow Pencil.
His Levi's film Rear View Girls hit 20 million views and was named Ad Age's #1 Viral Video before being recreated shot for shot by Brian De Palma in the feature Passion. Pedigree's SelfieSTIX was named Best Dog Ad of All Time by The One Club, and Colorbond's Made by Australia went viral on TikTok with 47.9 million views and 9.8 million likes.
What sets Jae apart is range of craft. He concepts, directs, shoots, edits, finishes VFX and composes original music, constantly incorporating emerging production techniques into traditional pipelines. Every discipline sharpens the others, and it lets him carry work from first idea to final mix.
His narrative debut, the short film The Elephants of Avalon Beach, won Best Picture at the New York Movie Awards and screened in official selection at two Oscar-qualifying festivals, marking a growing body of work that moves between advertising, film and music with the same obsessive attention to craft.
